The Newborn Experience
Studio sessions take all the pressure off of you. All you need to do is show up with your newborn and I will take care of the rest! All props, outfits, and accessories are provided by me. My minimalist, classic style focuses on all the details of your new little newborn family member as well as family images of everyone together.
From the moment your child is born, you don't want to forget a thing. Their expressions, how tiny they were, flakey skin, baby fuzz... I love it. I have been there with my own four children. I've been called a baby whisperer more than once. I create a peaceful, soothing environment that allows your baby and you to relax while I capture how perfect they are!

You've now seen my work and would like to chat about a session for your Portland area newborn! Yay! Reach out from the contact page and get more information on newborn sessions with me. I will get to know your family and your unique preferences and make sure we are a perfect fit. Be sure to book during pregnancy to ensure a spot on my calendar as I take a limited amount of newborns each month. You can be sure that your baby is in good hands with me. I have mentorships, trainings, and safety classes under my belt. I am fully vaccinated (yes, for everything and boosted), and wear a mask for all newborn sessions as well as hand sanitize often.

2. let's make it official
We are an awesome fit and you're ready to get on my calendar - let's make it all official! I will send you over the agreement and invoice for your $300 session retainer. I will get you all reserved in with my favorite hair and makeup artist as well if you choose. I will get to know exactly what you want from our time together Is this your first or will there be sibling pictures? Do you have a favorite color or family heirloom you want incorporated? Let's get it all figured out so your photos represent exactly what you want to remember about your precious new baby.
3. ask me Anything
I will work with you to pick outfits from my client closet for you and any siblings, or point you in the direction of some wonderful boutiques online that I know photograph well. I will provide everything for your newborn - hats/headbands, wraps, and outfits. I will walk you through how to prepare your baby for their session to ensure the most sleepy sweetness. You will have me to help with everything! And now we just wait for your little one to make his or her arrival! Once they have been born, you will let me know and we will set a date for when they are 7-14 days old. This allows you time to get feedings established, and ensures they are still super new, sleepy, and fresh.
4. the big day
We have picked a day, and on the morning of you will get your baby all ready for their session, then drive on over to the studio. I am conveniently located at 5201 SW Westgate Dr., #228, Portland, Oregon 97221. You may have chosen to get your hair and makeup done by my professional artist while I take some pictures of just baby. Your newborn is in charge, so anytime they need to eat, be changed, etc., we will be on baby time. Once you are all done and looking gorgeous we will do family portraits! Sessions usually take between an hour and a half and two hours to allow plenty of time. I will photograph your baby in several different backdrops, a few props like a basket or bucket, with each parent and sibling, and with the whole family together.
5. your photographs
Within a week, you will receive an email with your online gallery reveal. You will pick your favorites, then I will get to work on editing them to perfection! Your final images will be done within a week, and you can place your order for archival quality heirloom prints and wall art that will ship directly to you. No need to come back into the studio to do that. It's all in your online gallery. Let's get those adorable pictures into your hands, not just on your hard drive! The last step is just to enjoy your portraits for years to come and watch that little newborn grow up!
My pricing is easy. It's just a $300 nonrefundable retainer due at booking to cover my time and talent during your newborn session and all pre-planning of sets, client closet outfits, session prep guide, etc.
After your session, you will receive an online gallery of your image proofs. There, you will choose which images you love! Your retainer applies directly to your chosen image collection.
Professional Hair & Makeup Available
Typically occur between 7-21 days old while they are still so brand new and sleepy. These sessions take about two hours to give baby plenty of time to settle, eat, and doze off. I provide all props, backdrops, outfits, bonnets and headbands so all you have to do is show up to the SW Portland studio with your precious little one!
